Sommelier Exam

Having sat and successfully passed both the Introductory and the Certificate Exam for the Master Sommelier, I have a depth and breadth of understanding of the course curriculum. Knowing how and what to study will enable a candidate to succeed in passing both of these exams.

Many years of training for corporations and teaching in the wine industry have allowed me to develop highly successful training programs for individuals as well as for private businesses.

In my short two-year stay living in Las Vegas, I taught at MGM Grand University and trained Food & Beverage employees from server to General Manager to Vice President. Teaching and training has given me a huge insight into how most people learn and I believe in interractive learning modules.

My wine students learn to speak their own wine language and gain confidence when talking about wines and when purschasing wines, whether ordering off of a restuarant wine list or at the local wine shop. This is impowerment to make personal decisions without relying on those one-sided wine reviews in popular publications. (You know what I mean!)

Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Tutoring

One of my life-time goals is to obtain the Master of Wine. I know, I am already "in" the MS program. But with the WSET, you are also learning about many other areas besides wine. The WSET provides a great learning module for wines, spirits, and especially, mixology which is a really hot topic and the "buzz" for anyone who is in the business of food and wine. The WSET is academic and is a great program for those who want to teach and conduct research.

Students that I have already tutored for the various levels of the WSET have felt stronger in exam taking and enjoy the one-on-one feedback that I offer.

Tutoring sessions are completely customized and designed for the experience level of each student.

Napa Valley College

As a graduate of NVC Viticulture and Winery Technology Program, I wholeheartedly support and encourage all of you wine lovers out there to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn about winemaking and winegrowing from the experts.

I am proud to be a part of the faculty, teaching wine classes that are CSU and UC Davis transferrable.

Check out my Summer and Fall 2008 schedule for classes and...see you then!
